Community Service
Community Service & Dog Related Activities
HOTC conducts two obedience trials licensed under the rules of the American Kennel Club. These trials are held during the fall of each year for AKC registered dogs.
In addition to supporting and encouraging the showing of pure bred dogs, HOTC also offers Club Titles for mixed breeds and pure bred dogs unable to receive AKC registration papers.
HOTC also supports several vet schools and dog related charities through donations.
Another on-going activity supported by HOTC is the Therapy Dog Program. Through this program, dogs are taken several times a month to various nursing homes and schools around the Huntsville area. This is a valuable community service which HOTC is proud to sponsor.
HOTC also participates in other community services such as "Best Friends", the Humane Society's Walk Your Paws for a Good Cause, and provides veterinarians with a list of dog blood donors.
